Archive - Jun 9, 2006A Double TakeThis afternoon, whilst procrastinating from 'getting the house back in order now that the builders have gone', I was browsing through the latest issue of Art Almanac and happened upon this.
It is hard to tell at this resolution but I assure you that my name is in print and the red arrow is pointing to a 'detail' of my quilt The Dredger. I've been squinting hopelessly at the detail squares trying to get a feel for the other works included, there is definitely some tapestry, a piece with stitching on paper and I'm sure I can make out some bread tags in there! :-) I had a great conversation with the guy on the reception of the hotel I stayed at this week. He was so excited when I told him that a piece of my art was going to be exhibited, it got me starting to really anticipate this show. Which reminds me, he asked me to email the him the details of exhibition, so I should do it. So, anyway. The builders FINISHED today. I saw them off at lunchtime. We are left to our own devices. We now have to be self motivated enough to paint our entire house and get carpets in and light fittings fitted. I have a fair level of anxiety relating to our budget. You would not believe the amount we have spent on things like ... toilet roll holders. No you do not want to know (if you ever come to visit us you had bloody well admire our bathroom fittings or there will be hell to pay!!) Anyway, with all this household stuff going on, travel for work and maybe drinking too much ... I haven't made any progress on the grass bag. So, I'd better forge a path into my sewing room and finish it za bag this weekend or this blog will start to be boring again. Oh and by the way, I bought a pattern for a skirt and some pinwale cordoury so there may be some disasterous dressmaking coming up! YAY!
