Archive - Jul 8, 2006Oh No. My blog has been hiding comments. Again!
I've been feeling a bit despondent because no one had commented here for ages.... weeks. I didn't want to make the plaintive plea for comments (again), lest I seem like some crazy, needy fool (and hey, I'm not that great at leaving comments on other people's blogs so why should I expect much on mine). So tonight, I decide to check the bowels of this blog machine, mainly to make sure that no bastard spammers have managed to slip in here again. And to my horror I noticed that there were REAL comments languishing back there. Real, honest to goodness, fabulous comments. So, I quick smart reinstated them and replied to them in the comments section. I am so sorry guys. I should have been more switched on after the last episode, don't stop commenting I will be checking the comment log every day from here on. Today Riscy and I went to the Latrobe Regional Gallery to catch up with the latest exhibitions. There was a fantastic exhibition up called The Presence of Things - Sense, Veneer and Guise. Curated by Stephen Gallagher in conjunction with The Embroiders Guild, Victoria. 14 artists interpret textile pieces from the collection of the guild. The best piece was by Kate Cotching, an intricate paper cut sculptural piece which makes my current cutting ventures seem very crude indeed (note the link takes you to a piece which was not part of this exhibition but does show how mind blowing her work is). Seems I have been crossing paths with the Embroiders Guild recently. Tonight I traced out the privacy pattern again, traced the portrait and did a little cutting. Thought I'd spare you yet another photo of traced vliesofix and post another photo from the Holy Innocents' Church. This is a detail of the church gate.
