Quick and Dirty - Jar

The first stage of my first 'quick and dirty piece.  A photograph of my paint water jar.

I took the photo about 20 minutes ago, I fiddled around on the computer a bit but then decided that I need too do some drawings of it first.   I may end up using a few  angles of this jar in the final design.

Yesterday I talked about how I want to limit myself to 3hrs per piece, well I figure if I allow 1hr for design, 1hr for fabric selection and cutting and 1hr for quilting - then I am on the right track.  I may steal some of the allocated quilting time to get the cutting done. I'll be fairly diciplined at this stage of the experiment though.

Today was my first day of work after my Christmas break - I needed another week!  Today I regretted that I did not take the time to clear up my desk before Christmas.  It took me most of the morning to get everything sorted and ready for someone to file.  I try to keep things reasonably organised due to the number of projects we are working on at various stages, but towards the end of December chaos started to rule as we pumped out reports.  Anyway, things are back in reasonable order now and all is right with the world :-)

Riscy and I also went to the pool this afternoon for our first swim of the season.  I am unfit.  I could only get halfway down the olympic sized (outdoor=cold) swimming pool before I had to flip over for some more gentle backstroke.  We plan to swim every day this week and we have a small kayaking/camping trip to Snake Island planned for this weekend... weather permitting.
